BIO
Shira Hochman (1985) is an awarded Israeli film editor, story editor, producer and consultant, with over a decade experience and extensive background in both narrative and documentary filmmaking.
Her notable achievements include: The Oscar nominated short film WHITE EYE (2021) by Tomer Shushan. Co-writer and editor of the documentary film RABI CAPOEIRA (Docaviv, 2024) by Barak Hyman. Winner of the Editing Award at the Jerusalem Film Festival (2020) and co-writer of the documentary film HIGH MAINTENANCE by Barak Heymann. She was nominated for the Editing Award in the Israeli Academy awards (OFIR) for her work in the film NEXT TO HER by Asaf Korman (Cannes 2014).​
Her projects have received international acclaim and have been exhibited in festivals such as Cannes, Locarno, Berlin, Jerusalem, San Sebastian, Krakow, DocLisboa, SXSW and more.

Graduated her Film studies at Minshar School of Art, Tel Aviv (2014), where she also worked as a lecturer for film editing for 6 years. Shira is alumni of the Berlinale Talents, Editors Studio 2018. She’s a member of the Israeli Film & TV Academy, and the Israeli Film & TV Editors Association.

Shira is also an editing and script consulting and a story editor. She participated in projects such as GABRIEL (Cannes, Competition, Courts Métrages 2018), AFRICA (Toronto IFF 2019, San Sebastian IFF 2020) both by the director Oren Gerner, and more. She served as an Artistic advisor for the Israeli Film Fund, Makor Film Fund, the Jerusalem Film Festival, and mentored graduating students at Minshar School of Art.
In 2018 she created “MINA” studio, a creative studio focusing on development. Shira produced and edited, under MINA, the Oscar nominated short film WHITE EYE (2021), acquired by HBO Max, associate producer and editor of MISIÓN A MARTE by Amat Vallmajor del Pozo (SSIFF 2023, IndieLisboa 2023, FICXixón IFF 2022, Berlin Critic’s Week 2023), IT’S TIME YOU DIED ALREADY by Hadar Morag (Slamdance 2023, Krakow FF 2022, Nominated for the Israeli Oscars 2022), HORST by Miki Polonski (DocAviv 2020 Honorary mention).

Shira works internationally, living and working between Tel Aviv, Israel and San Sebastian, Spain.
